Hebrews 13:2 NIV “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

R – Recite

Be kind and welcoming to “strangers” – people I don’t know but cross my path. They are Angels on a mission sent by God; we are blessed to join them in it.

Express/Confess

Thank you, Lord, for opportunities to be kind and show hospitality, thank you for using angels to bless, encourage and protect us. In Genesis 18 Abraham is visited by 3 such angels, who after they had eaten deliver the message that Sarah would conceive and bare a son. Forgive me Lord, for being guarded with strangers and hesitant to interact with them. Let your love and compassion motivate me to serve those around me. I can just imagine the joy of serving dinner to you and the 12 apostles, or Paul and Timothy…even if they were strangers to me.

Matthew 25: 34-40 NIV The parable of separating the goats and sheep. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Me: Lord, I need your discernment. I want to be willing. Love casts out fear. Help me to move and act in love and not be bound by fear. Thank you for your answers to prayer.

1 John 4:18 NIV “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Philippians 1:9 NIV “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight
